Hi, My name is Coco

My name is Coleen, or Coco for short. I am turning 42 in 2020 and will be married for 20 years this year. I have 2 amazing kids, 16 and 10. About 7 years ago I was diagnosed with having acute Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome, symptoms being extreme fatigue, severe mood swings, falling sick very often, and the dreaded weight gain. I had a wonderful doctor who diagnosed me and started me on a very low dose of biosynthetic hormones and supplements to support my endochrine and immune system.

I began feeling a tad better but still suffer till today, though not nearly as debilitating as in 2012-2014. In 2016, I was introduced to TR90, a Nuskin program that helps reset your hormones and reduce weight. Well, I’m not a very “follow by the book” person and I ended up only taking the TR90 pills, and not the Lifepak (daily multivitamins) and the shakes (meal replacements). I did, however, see results. I didnt lose much weight, probably 5 kg or so, but I went down maybe 2 dress sizes. And the best part was, it did stabilize, at least the hormone that makes me gain weight. I could then maintain the weight (though it did go up, but my size didn’t quite go up) and I had more energy and clarity of mind.

I had been researching keto for about 2 years now, not convinced that
1. I could follow it
2. It would work for me

However, as I researched and modified my diet over the past 2 years, I began to feel more and more in control over my body. I became less “hangry” and could go longer with hunger. I started researching intermittent fasting and saw how it worked with other people I knew. Watching Dr Berg (who helped me heaps with my AFS) on IF and Keto really opened my eyes. I saw that my diet wasn’t very dissimilar. I already was eating pretty clean by then, I could go without rice or potatoes, and I began to lose interest in cakes and desserts. It stopped becoming intense cravings.

So this January, I decided. This is it. I’m feeling fatigued, demoralized, I needed to get a handle of my body again. Armed with the little research I did, I set out to do Keto.

This blog is my journey. You can follow if you choose to. I will upload what I eat and if it’s something you fancy following, I can give the recipes and counts for them.

Lovingly,
Coleen
